​TPEC 2025

Overview
​The 2025 Texas Power and Energy Conference was successfully held on February 9-10 at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.

This year, the conference brought together scholars and professionals to represent and discuss the lasted technological development and challenges in power and energy industry. All the papers presented are included in the conference proceedings published through IEEEXplore. 

​Conference co-directors, Jordan Cook and
Kseniia Zhgun, as well as other committee members from the Texas A&M IEEE PES-IAS-PELS student chapter organized this conference, under the guidance from faculty advisors Dr. Thomas Overbye, Dr. Le Xie, Dr. Robert Balog, Dr. Katherine Davis, and Dr. Adam Birchfield.

Keynote Speakers
  • Dr. Ann Xu – CEO & Co-Founder of Electro Tempo, Inc.; expert in EV charging​ infrastructure planning and grid integration.
  • Dr. Adam Birchfield – Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University; expert in power system modeling, simulation, and analysis, with a focus on transmission and distribution networks.
  • James Mercier – IEEE Life Senior Member, sharing insights from his extensive career in electrical and environmental engineering.
  • David Tomczyszyn – Vice President of Electric System Engineering & Technical Services at Austin Energy; discussion on emerging challenges in power infrastructure.
